Types of Dentures

At your consultation, we won’t just determine if you’re a candidate for dentures; we’ll determine which type of dentures are ideal for your unique dental needs and smile goals. Below, you can find a little more information on each!
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are restorations that are custom-made to replace missing teeth while leaving spacing for any remaining natural ones you have. They are held in position with a discreet metal clasp, which ensures that they don’t move as you go about your day.
Full Dentures
This restoration is used when a patient doesn’t have any of their natural teeth left. If you had any removed, then we will give the tissue time to heal before the dentures are placed. Once it’s ready, it will be held in place with natural suction, denture adhesive, or both!
Implant Dentures
For a more permanent solution, you can also opt for implant dentures. They are placed within the jawbone, and they can last 30+ years with the right kind of care! In other words, with this prosthetic, you can enjoy a fully functional smile without worry.
The Benefits of Dentures

Dentures continue to be popular because:
- They can easily replace a large number of missing teeth
- They can last for 10+ years with proper care
- They are cost-effective
- They boost your self-esteem and bite power
- They are custom-made for each patient
Dentures FAQs
How Do I Care for My Dentures?
Even though dentures are not real teeth, you should care for them like they are. You should brush them to remove plaque and food particles. After they have been taken out of your mouth, you should place them directly into room temperature water or a denture cleaning solution. Never use hot water because it could warp the dentures. Your dentures are delicate, so make sure you are careful when handling them. Also, never try to adjust your dentures yourself, as you could ruin them. Instead, you should always seek assistance from a member of our team if they feel uncomfortable or loose.
What Are Immediate Dentures?
Before having your teeth removed, we will take measurements and have dentures fitted for your mouth. After removing the teeth, the dentures are immediately put into place. The benefit is that you do not have to spend any time without teeth. You will, however, need to have a follow-up visit to refit your dentures because the jawbone will slightly change shape as your mouth heels. The dentures will need to be tightened after the jawbone has healed.
How Do Dentures Feel?
Your dentures may take some time to get used to. The flesh-colored base of the dentures is placed over your gums. Some people say that it feels bulky or that they don't have enough room for their tongue. Other times, the dentures might feel loose. These feelings will affect the way you eat and talk for a little while. Over time, your mouth becomes trained to eat and speak with your dentures, and they begin to feel more like your natural teeth.
